Construction Planner | Commercial Fit-out & Refurbishment The Opportunity My client is a highly respected national construction and fit-out specialist operating in the Design & Construct space. With a wide profile of upcoming projects, they are looking for a Construction Planner who wants to be part of a high-performing team rather than just a number in a system. This is a business that takes "Pride and Professionalism" seriously but equally values "Work and Fun". They are looking for someone who enjoys a collaborative team atmosphere and wants to work in an environment that encourages innovation and upskilling. The Role Working closely with the Planning Manager, you will be a key driver in both the pre-contracts and project delivery phases. This is a dynamic role where you will not only manage schedules but also act as a technical resource, mentoring project teams to improve their planning capabilities. Why Join? Join a team that values "Intelligence" and "Excellence," where your technical knowledge is valued and shared. A genuine opportunity to influence how projects are delivered and mentor the next generation of project teams. A workplace that believes in working hard, celebrating success, and appreciating the people behind the projects. About You To be successful, you must have a solid planning background specifically within the commercial building/construction industry. Please note: While we respect the civil sector, candidates with purely Civil infrastructure experience will not be suitable for the specific demands of these building projects. Experience: Proven history in a programming role within construction or consultancy, ideally with exposure to fit-out and refurbishment. Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Project or Primavera is essential, alongside strong MS Office skills. Exposure to 3D modelling (Revit/Sketch-up) is a distinct advantage. Education: Ideally, you hold a building-related degree, diploma, or come from a trade background. Approach: You are analytical and methodical but also a strong communicator who can work autonomously while contributing to a positive team culture. Key Responsibilities: Tender Strategy: Manage the preparation and submission of tender programmes, including developing construction methodologies and attending site inspections to ensure bids are competitive and realistic. Project Delivery: Partner with project teams to conduct "commercial health checks" on live projects, tracking progress and managing risk to ensure delivery benchmarks are met. Optimization: Go beyond basic tracking by actively identifying opportunities for programme acceleration and efficiency to drive project profitability. Mentoring & Development: Assist in upskilling project staff through 1-on-1 support, helping the wider team understand construction programming best practices and software. Resource Planning: Contribute to effective resource management, helping to forecast and commit resources across the branch.
